In addition to Arjen's comment about triggers: MySQL needs to support more than one trigger per table event, ie multiple BEFORE/AFTER INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE triggers on one table.

This really rocks! I can't wait to see where MySQL AB and Sun go. Soon as I heard about the acquisition I was thrilled to pieces.

Hey Peter,

I am sure I have poked you about this, I have poked Josh about this, but I really feel that OSS RDBMS should play a role in the definition of the standard. The LIMIT syntax is a prime example for this. We all realized that there is a need for a simpler syntax for this years ago. All OSS RDBMS have implemented the syntax and have migrated towards a common syntax for this. Finally the big boys are getting it too, but decide on a different syntax. Narf.

Re the instead of trigger addition... MySQL needs to start supporting triggers on views. As well as a trigger on SELECT, which is a necessity for auditing.
